Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nripendra Misra, has put down his papers. As per an official, the Prime Minister has requested the 1967-Batch officer to continue for two more weeks.

The Uttar Pradesh cadre officer was the former Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and has served as a regulator from 2006 to 2009.

On the other hand, former cabinet secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha, a 1977-Batch Uttar Pradesh-cadre IAS officer, who superannuated on Friday has been appointed the officer on special duty (OSD) in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Rajiv Gauba, 1982-Batch officer of Jharkhand cadre, took over as India’s cabinet secretary on Friday replacing Sinha.
