Abhishek Singh has joined as Secretary, Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board, under the Department of Agriculture Research and Education, Government of India, for a tenure of five years.
In a tweet on Friday, the 1995 batch Indian Administrative Services officer from Nagaland cadre said that he was “looking forward to learning about key issues for agriculture scientists and ways we can contribute to welfare of our farmers”.
Singh possesses a diverse experience of administration, managing law and order, implementing development programmes, and of policy formulation at Central Government with regard to use of technology for improving governance, his Linkedin profile reads.
An IIT-Kanpur alumni, Singh did his B.Tech and M.Tech from the prestigeous engineering institute before doing his Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
His stint in the field took him to several places in Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh, where he gained diverse experiences of handling “different and difficult situations”.

He has implemented developmental and welfare programmes at district level with special emphasis on poverty alleviation programmes and delivery of educational and health services.
