Sanjeev Ranjan to be new secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways

Sanjeev Ranjan, 1985 Batch IAS, has been appointed as officer on Special Duty for Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).


Sanjeev RanjanRanjan is likely to assume office as MoRTH secretary from 1 April 2019. He will succeed Yudhvir Singh Malik, whose superannuation is scheduled on 31 March 2019.

The Tripura cadre officer is currently the Chairman of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Nagendra Nath Sinha will take over as NHAI Chairman. Sinha, currently serving as Managing Director, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), will continue to hold this additional charge as well.

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Government of India, has reshuffled and allotted additional charges to IAS officers across batches and cadres on 3 March 2019.


Along with Ranjan, the other IAS officers whose appointments have been reshuffled or given additional roles include Braj Raj Sharma, Ruolkhumlien Buhril, Rabindra Pawar, Bhupendra Singh, P Venkata Ramesh Babu, Yaduvendra Mathur, Rajni Sekhri Sibal, Rakesh Kumar Vats, NN Singh and Dharmendra S Gangwar.
