Company unveils innovative products to mark 25^th anniversary 

Polycom is working to expand its footprints to 100 Indian cities by June next year from 70 cities current, according to a top official of the company.

Addressing media persons at the unveiling ceremony of innovation products to mark Polycom’s silver jubilee year, Minhaz Zia, Managing Director – India and SAARC, said that the company sees a huge opportunity in the Indian market following the Union Government’s recent initiatives like Digital India, Make in India and plan to raise 100 smart cities.

Zia interacted with the media from Bangalore through video conferencing. The briefing was also addressed by the company’s top brass from Bangalore, Sydney and Singapore.

To mark its 25^th anniversary, Polycom unveiled a series of innovative products recently at a customer event held in New York. Most of the products had advancing the workplace of the future globally as their prime focus.

The products launched on the occasion included Polycom Real Presence Trio, Polycom Real Presence Centro, Polycom Real Presence Debut, Polycom Real Presence Medialign, Polycom Concierge and Polycom VVX business media phones. Polycom’s latest solutions are engineered to uniquely address these challenges with elegance and simplicity, enabling customers to collaborate more effectively across a broader array of workspaces.

On the occasion, Peter Leav, President and Chief Executive Officer, Polycom said, “Today we are taking a quantum leap in achieving our vision of unleashing the power of human collaboration. Polycom’s senior officials remarked that their products are immensely benefitting educational and health institutions as they can now avail high quality video conferencing with crystal clear voice technology at a low bandwidth.

Zia added institutes like IITs, IIMs and Indian School of Business are now using Polycom’s products to teach their students and get connected with the finest faculties across the world.

“PM Narendra Modi himself is tech savvy and uses video technology in tracking large projects. The government is taking a lot of IT initiatives to increase efficiency and save time of the employees by using high-end video conferencing products. We have seen a lot of government bodies and private firms using video conferencing. Polycom India has regained number one position as per the latest reports and we have 44 per cent of market share in India. The industry is going to grow at 15 per cent annually which is an immense opportunity for us. Our presence is in 70 cities and we are contemplating to expand it to 100 cities by June next year.”
