The incumbent Special Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shashi Shekhar, has been appointed as Secretary, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. He is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.
Shekhar will be replacing Anuj Kumar Vishnoi, who is also a 1981 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre and has been appointed as the Secretary, Department of Fertilisers.
