‘EBS’ payment gateway goes green with VeriSign EV SSL

One of the leading payment gateways in India, E-Billing Solutions (EBS) has deployed VeriSign Inc.'s Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates.

The deployment of EV SSL Certificates will help online merchants and their customers build trust and confidence on the Internet by offering immediate and visible assurance when transacting online.

Indian consumers are showing an encouraging shift from traditional modes of payment such as paying bills over the counter, to the advanced payment mode facilitated by a click of the mouse. However, online security is a major cause of concern for consumers transacting on the Internet today. From random hackers to complete cases of data and identity theft, making sure you are using a secure interface when conducting online business transactions is a top priority.

“At E-Billing Solutions, our priority has always been to safeguard the interests of both the e-commerce merchants as well as their clients,” said Nishanth Chandran Founder & Director, E-Billing Solutions. “Our main goal is to allow our site visitors to trust that we were handling their information securely and in turn maintain our own brand integrity. The green address bar is symbolic of an authenticated Web site that has been verified as per certain rules and helps to instill trust and confidence with our merchants and their customers.”

E-Billing Solutions has deployed VeriSign Extended Validation (EV) Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificates to provide consumers with visual assurance against online fraudulent activity by providing third party verification of its website's authenticity.

An EV SSL Certificate displays easily understood visual cues in EV-enabled high-security browsers to provide tangible assurances of a website's authenticity. The browser address bar turns green and a new field appears to the right of the URL. This field contains the name of the organisation that owns the site as well as the security provider that issued the certificate, such as VeriSign.

“Online trust is vital, and when a company makes an effort to provide a trusted online experience, customers respond by coming back confidently,” said Shekhar Kirani, Country Manager, VeriSign India.
