25 PMC offices may get wireless connectivity

All 25 offices of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) India, including headquarters, 14 ward offices and 10 Sampark offices will get wireless connectivity to avoid administrative delays caused by frequent collapse of underground cables.

Recently, PMC launched e-Governance services for property tax, building permission work flow management and birth and death certificates through the connectivity at its 25 offices. Since every time underground cable were damaged by road digging for various reasons like laying drainage lines, drinking water pipelines etc., so the civic agency has proposed a proposal in the Standing Committee to allot contract for wireless connectivity in all of its offices. The civic agency has invited bids from different providers to set up connectivity of 2Mbps. The administration has shortlisted Tulip IT Services Ltd to provide wireless connectivity at the cost of Rs 1.25 lakh per month for three years.
