Citywide Wi-Fi network in Pacifica, California

Tropos Networks and Veraloft have launched Pacifica Net, a citywide Wi-Fi service in Pacifica, California. The network will provide high-speed fixed and mobile Internet access for residential and business customers.

Additionally, the service also enables visitors and tourists to access the Internet across the city. According to Pacifica's Mayor Pro Tem, James Vreeland, the network provides the community with a new high-speed Internet access alternative, which is unique in that it can go anywhere a user goes around town. Veraloft selected the Tropos' 5320 dual-radio MetroMesh router and Tropos Control management suite to build the network. Pacifica customers can select from three symmetrical speed tiers of service; monthly pricing ranges from US$ 19.95 for up to 1Mbps to $39.95 for up to 3Mbps.
