Soon the Anti Corruption Bureau (ABC), the Income Tax Department will use online records of the Maharashtra, India.
The Income Tax Department will adopt a 'fishing in the pond' policy to scan the huge database of land records to identify potential tax evaders. The department will use it for the land records website http://mahabhulekh.mumbai.nic.in for major land deals and track huge landowners. The land records department will conduct a one-day workshop for six income tax investigators in the region next week to train them on getting the most out of the website. The workshop will give I-T officials the expertise to effectively gather land record information of individuals using the portal's query module.
