Hewlett Packard (HP) has received the prestigious Rs.468 million bid of Himachal Pradesh Wide Area Network (HIMSWAN) after beating six other bidders, including Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Tulip IT and Bel.

 

Juniper and Norton will provide the networking equipment to HP. It is expected that project would place by next year. The dedicated network will provide network down to the district, block and, tehsil and sub-tehsil local levels connecting about 3,000 government offices with 131 points of presence including wireless connectivity. Bhartat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will provide connectivity up to the points of presence. HP has already signed a deal with BSNL for providing connectivity.
