The Patent Office of UK published its Annual Review 'Our Story: Highlights of 2005', which supplements the existing formal Annual Report (financial year 2005-2006). It features an important e-Government service – the Patents Electronic Case System.

The new format of the Annual Review gives the Patent Office the opportunity to cover some of its activities in greater detail than is possible in the Annual Report, as well as including the facts and figures, an easy to read statistical overview of 2005. In short, the Annual Review provides an accessible picture of what the Patent Office has done in relation to intellectual property and innovation. The Annual Review includes the following highlights and initiatives from the Patent Office's year;

>The work to date on the Patents Electronic Case System (PECS) and the Trade Marks Programme (TMP).
>The highly successful 'What is the Key? IP awareness campaign
>The definition of a new business model – A Patent Office for the 21st Century programme. Achieving Charter Mark status for the 5th time.
>The work of the Enforcement Team with the IP Crime Group
