Multipurpose cards arrive in India
The Government of India (GoI) has started much awaited multi-purpose National Identity Card (MNIC) project in the country. The government has selected Narela area in north Delhi to distribute the National ID cards.

The Government of India (GoI) has started the much awaited multi-purpose National Identity Card (MNIC) project in the country. The government has selected Narela area in north Delhi to distribute the first National ID cards.
Soon, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will connect India through satellites to provide education, health and other social services to people, especially who are living in rural areas.

Under the Community Information Centres (CICs) project, 487 CICs have been set up, at the Block level in the 8 North Eastern states of India covering Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
