PAN- African e-health programme at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State, will now make telemedicine in Africa not only broaden the scope of health services in the continent, but also give specialised care at the doorstep of the common man.
Launching a new Smart Card for all five million Indian nationals working in the Gulf region, prime minister Manmohan Singh said that this initiative marks a comprehensive e-governance project on migration. Under this project, every worker will be issued a Smart Card that will contain all details of the worker, his work contract, his employer, his insurance etc.

In another new initiative within the e- governance framework, Indian government plans to introduce e-governance for clinical trials by 2013.
