C-DAC completes first phase of e-Gov services in India

Tax administration at the state level in India will be provided with a common value added tax (VAT) form, procedures and tariff codes which can help uniformity and standardisation in the VAT structure. Indian Government is also working on an e-Governance framework for VAT administration.
Indian Government is working on technology, which will allow Indian citizens to fill forms and payments of utility bills among others through mobile technology. The technology will also enable a citizen in a remote area without internet access to use mobile phones to access services like land records and employment exchanges.
Indian Government is planning to set around 5000 community radio stations in next two years. Indian Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has organised a national seminar on community radio in collaboration with the United Nations at Indian Institute of Mass Communication in New Delhi, India.
