South Korea Ranked 1st Out of 198 e-Government Countries

Brookings Institution of Governance Studies has ranked South Korea at the 1st position out of 198 countries. Other highly ranked countries in the study are Taiwan, United States, Singapore, Canada, Australia, Germany and Ireland. Singapore, which was placed 4th, is the top ranking country among Asean nations.

Dubai Municipality Accomplishes 1.4 million e-Transactions

Dubai Municipality has accomplished a record 1,386,791 e-transactions last year i.e. 2008, marking a tremendous success of the e-government project of the Municipality. Among the 492 e-services provided by the Municipality e-portal, 402 are main services and others are branch services covering information services and transactional services that facilitate easy access to a number of forms required for getting the Municipality services accomplished.

Punjab Agricultural Marketing Board has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state-run Indian Telephone Industries Limited for implementing e-tendering. The system is expected to get functional by February 15, 2009.
