Dr. Rajneesh Goel

In a significant administrative move, the Karnataka government has selected Dr. Rajneesh Goel, a distinguished 1986-batch IAS officer, as the upcoming Chief Secretary, following the imminent retirement of the incumbent, Vandita Sharma, at the end of November.

Dr. Rajneesh Goel, who currently holds the position of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the Home Department of the Government of Karnataka, is set to assume the pivotal role of Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka.

Vandita Sharma, the incumbent Chief Secretary, is scheduled to retire on superannuation on November 30, 2023, marking the end of her dedicated service to the state.

Dr. Goel’s exceptional track record and experience in various key administrative roles, including his concurrent charge as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, make him a well-qualified choice for this vital position. The Karnataka government’s decision to appoint him as the new Chief Secretary is expected to contribute to the continued progress and development of the state.
