Satwant Trivedi Becomes Himachal’s 1st Woman Additional DG of Police

A 1996-Batch IPS officer Satwant Atwal Trivedi has been appointed as Additional Director General (ADG) of Police after the orders from the Government of Himachal Pradesh, It is for the first time ever in the state of Himachal Pradesh that a woman IPS officer has been promoted to ADG rank. Satwant Trivedi is currently serving central deputation as Head of Border Security Force’s (BSF) Intelligence Directorate and Joint Secretary, NATGRID.


She is the first woman IPS officer of the state. Satwant has achieved meritorious distinction in diploma in investigation and leadership from Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Academy, Department of Justice, USA. Besides, she was the first woman police officer of the state to get posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Una district and the first woman officer of the BSF who implemented artificial intelligence initiatives.

Previously, Satwant had served in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi before repatriating to her home cadre in January 2012. Her husband, Abhishek Trivedi is also a 1996-Batch IPS officer.
