
Telangana Government’s IT, Electronics & Communication Department on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vancouver Film School (VFS) for setting up a “Satellite Campus” in Hyderabad that will offer programmes in animation, gaming and VFX.
The Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) has been appointed as the nodal agency to implement the programme on behalf of the State for setting up the campus which is likely to come up in 2018.
As part of the agreement, VFS would send teachers, lecturers and experts to conduct off-site training and classes as well as examinations, along with offering scholarships and incentives for students at the campus to attend VFS Canada.

The MoU was signed during the ministerial visit of Canadian Minister of International trade, Francois Philippe Champagne. Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao was also present during the signing of the MoU.

According to its official website, VFS offers 13 post-secondary diploma programs that deliver techniques and skills required in acting, animation, film and TV production, screenwriting, programming, makeup, sound, interactive or game design.
