Bengaluru, May 2026: As Indian cities grapple with rising water stress, climate uncertainty, rapid urbanisation and growing infrastructure demands, the conversation around water governance is entering a decisive new phase. Against this backdrop, the National AI Summit on Water 2026, organised by Elets Technomedia in collaboration with the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), eGov Magazine (Media Partner) and KPMG (Knowledge Partner), will be held on 27 May 2026 at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy ONE.The summit aims to bring together policymakers, urban utility leaders, researchers, industry experts and technology innovators to deliberate on building intelligent, resilient and sustainable urban water ecosystems.
India’s rapid urbanisation, climate variability and growing water demand are placing unprecedented pressure on urban water systems, making water security central to public health, sustainability and city resilience. As utilities move beyond conventional supply-led models, integrated and technology-driven water governance is becoming essential. In this transition, BWSSB has emerged as a leading example, serving nearly 14 million residents through infrastructure modernisation, digital integration and circular water management, including 34 STPs with 1,348.50 MLD capacity, large-scale treated wastewater reuse and lake rejuvenation initiatives that have contributed to groundwater improvement.
It is within this evolving national context that the National AI Summit on Water 2026 assumes particular significance. The summit, themed “Powering Intelligent Water Utilities of the Future”, will focus on how artificial intelligence, digital governance and emerging technologies can strengthen India’s urban water systems and accelerate climate-resilient development.
The event will witness the participation of several distinguished dignitaries, including Sri. D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka; Sri. Byrathi Suresh, Minister for Urban Development & Town Planning, Government of Karnataka; Smt. Shalini Rajneesh, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka; and Sri. Ram Prasath Manohar V, IAS, Chairman, BWSSB, among other senior policymakers and sector leaders. The inaugural and plenary session will also feature participation from senior state and national government officials alongside sector experts and institutional leaders.
The summit agenda has been designed to facilitate high-level deliberations around the future of water governance. Key sessions will examine themes such as AI and digital governance frameworks, India’s digital water stack, climate and blended finance, AI-powered circular water economy, and real-world implementation pathways for intelligent utilities.
The summit will feature participation from officials representing the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, urban local bodies, state water utilities, international institutions, academia, and leading technology companies including experts from IISc, Google, World Bank, SAP, C-DAC, Cisco, and several water technology innovators.
Through such collaborative platforms, Elets Technomedia continues to foster meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange and policy engagement around India’s urban transformation and sustainable development priorities. The National AI Summit on Water 2026 is expected to emerge as an important national platform for shaping the next generation of intelligent, inclusive and resilient water utilities.
