Enterprise communication solutions provider Onextel has secured a major government contract from National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (NICSI) to deliver messaging services to various government organisations across the country. The deal is expected to significantly strengthen the company’s government business, with Onextel estimating up to ₹125 crore in additional annual revenue from the contract.
The agreement positions Onextel as a key digital communication partner in the government’s growing e-Governance and digital infrastructure ecosystem. Through this contract, Onextel will support official communication requirements of multiple ministries, state departments, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies.
NICS I, which functions under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), serves as the central technology services arm of the Government of India. It plays a critical role in enabling secure, scalable and standardised IT services for government institutions nationwide.
Industry experts believe that this collaboration reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening secure digital communication frameworks to improve service delivery, citizen engagement and inter-departmental coordination.
