In a significant administrative move, the Kerala government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has announced a large-scale reshuffle of IAS officers with fresh transfers and postings. The reshuffle also includes the creation of two new ex-cadre posts, as stated in the order issued by Rajesh G R, Additional Secretary, General Administration Department.

Key Highlights of the Reshuffle

• Minhaj Alam (KL:1996): Currently Principal Secretary, Forest and Wildlife, has been assigned additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director, Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB), while retaining all existing additional charges.

• Dr. A Kowsigan (KL:2009): Secretary, Ports, has been given additional responsibilities as Secretary of SC/ST Development and Backward Classes Development departments, relieving IAS officer Puneet Kumar.

• Jeevan Babu K (KL:2011): MD, Kerala Water Authority, has been transferred as Commissioner for Land Revenue. He will also serve as Commissioner, Disaster Management, and State Project Manager, National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project.

• Anjana M (KL:2013): Additional Secretary-I, GAD (AIS), has been assigned additional charge as Project Director, Kerala State Transport Project.

• John V Samuel (KL:2015): Formerly Director, Coir Development, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Local Self Government Department (LSGD).

• Anju K S (KL:2017): MD, Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation, has been posted as Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, while retaining charge as MD, Backward Classes Development Corporation.

• Anie Jula Thomas (KL:2018): Officer on Special Duty, Industries Department, will additionally take over as Director, Coir Development.

• Vishnuraj P (KL:2019): Director, Industries, has been given additional responsibility as MD, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).

• Rahul Krishna Sharma (KL:2019): Project Director, Kerala State Transport Project, has been placed at the disposal of LSGD as CEO, Smart City Thiruvananthapuram.

• Arun S Nair (KL:2020): Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, has been temporarily posted as Additional District Magistrate, Sabarimala, and will return to the parent post after the Mandala-Makaravilakku season.

• Harshil R Meena (KL:2021): Director, Environment and Climate Change, will also serve as CEO, ANERT (Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technology).
