The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of Manas Kaviraj, currently serving as Senior Executive Director at NBCC (India) Limited, as the new Director (Human Resources) at Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited (AWEIL).
Kaviraj, a seasoned HR professional, has held several senior leadership roles during his tenure at NBCC (India) Limited, where he was instrumental in driving employee engagement, organizational restructuring, and implementing progressive HR policies for the PSU major. His leadership has been credited with strengthening the talent pipeline and aligning workforce strategies with NBCC’s business expansion.
With this new role, Kaviraj is expected to bring his vast experience in HR strategy, industrial relations, and organizational development to AWEIL — a key public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence engaged in manufacturing arms, ammunition, and advanced weaponry.

His appointment comes at a crucial time when AWEIL is focusing on modernization, indigenous manufacturing, and workforce transformation to strengthen India’s defense manufacturing ecosystem.
