The Ministry of Power has extended the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited to Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who currently serves as Director (Finance) and Chairman & Managing Director (Addl. Charge) of NHPC Limited. The extension is effective from July 1 for a period of two months or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This development was confirmed by SJVN Limited through a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.
Consequently, the additional charge of Director (Finance) earlier assigned to THDC India Limited’s Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg, also effective from July 1, stands withdrawn as per the Ministry’s superseding directive.
Goyal, a veteran finance professional, has been with NHPC since 1988, beginning his journey as a Senior Accountant at Salal Power Station in Jammu & Kashmir. Over the last 34 years, he has held critical financial roles across projects in Chamera-I, Dulhasti, Jammu, and Faridabad, ultimately rising to the post of Director (Finance) on October 1, 2020.
An alumnus of the University of Rajasthan and a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Goyal has also chaired the Boards of Jalpower Corporation Limited, NHPC Renewable Energy Limited, and Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited. He serves as Nominee Director on the Boards of multiple key joint ventures including Chenab Valley Power Projects Ltd, Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd, Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd, and NHDC Ltd. In addition, he holds directorships in SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company and SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company.
