In a significant administrative development, the Government of India has empanelled 27 senior officers from various All India Services and Central Services to hold Joint Secretary or equivalent posts in the central government. The empanelled officers belong to diverse cadres and batches, reflecting a wide-ranging talent pool across the Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Indian Railway Services, Indian Postal Service, Indian Statistical Service, and the Central Secretariat Service (CSS).
