RITES Limited, a Government of India enterprise known for its expertise in transport infrastructure and consultancy, has appointed Vinod Kumar as a Part-time Government Nominee Director on its Board.


The appointment was approved by the Hon’ble President of India and communicated by the Ministry of Railways through official letter no. 2022/PL/57/10. It came into effect on 25 February 2026.

  • Term: Till Vinod Kumar continues as Executive Director (Production Units & Workshops), Railway Board, or until further orders

The move is expected to strengthen the Ministry of Railways’ strategic representation on the RITES Board, ensuring closer alignment between national transport priorities and project execution.

Experienced Railway Professional Joins the Board

Vinod Kumar currently serves as Executive Director (Production Units & Workshops) at the Railway Board. A 1997 batch officer of the Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

With more than 25 years of experience in Indian Railways, he has previously served on the boards of BSCL and BCL (2010–2014) and has also handled deputation assignments with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR). His professional background spans production units, workshops, and operational management within the railway ecosystem.

Compliance with Regulatory Norms

RITES Limited confirmed that Vinod Kumar is not debarred from holding the office of director by SEBI or any other authority. The company is completing all statutory formalities in accordance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 and relevant guidelines.
