The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Vishnu Deo Sai, met on Tuesday at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) and approved a series of important decisions focused on farmer welfare, legislative preparedness, and effective governance.
Governor’s Address for Upcoming Assembly Session Approved
The Cabinet approved the address to be delivered by the Hon’ble Governor during the Eighth Session of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh, scheduled for February–March 2026. The Governor’s address will outline the government’s achievements and set the policy agenda for the upcoming session.
Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, 2026 Cleared
In preparation for the Budget Estimates 2026–27, the Cabinet also approved the draft of the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, 2026, which will be tabled in the Legislative Assembly. The bill will authorise government expenditure in line with budgetary provisions, enabling the implementation of development programmes across sectors.
Major Relief for Farmers Under Krishak Unnati Yojana
In a landmark decision aimed at supporting the farming community, the Cabinet resolved that farmers who sold paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will be paid the differential amount of ₹3,100 per quintal in a single instalment before the festival of Holi.
During the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, the state procured 141.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 25,24,339 farmers. This year alone, the government will disburse around ₹10,000 crore toward the differential price of paddy before Holi.
Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, farmers are allowed to sell up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre at ₹3,100 per quintal, the highest MSP offered in the country. Over the past two years, more than ₹25,000 crore has already been paid to farmers under the scheme. With the latest instalment, total disbursement will reach ₹35,000 crore.===]
