Chhattisgarh Government

The Government of Chhattisgarh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to accelerate the growth of start-ups and emerging technology sectors in the state. The agreement marks a significant step toward transforming Chhattisgarh into a leading hub for innovation, artificial intelligence, MedTech, and smart agriculture.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, speaking at the signing ceremony, said the state is rapidly emerging not only as a resource-rich region but also as a center of knowledge, technology, and innovation. He described the MoU as a major milestone in strengthening Chhattisgarh’s technology ecosystem and promoting entrepreneurship.

New Centres to Drive Innovation

Under the agreement, two key initiatives will be established in the state:

  • Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE) – Focused on promoting start-ups and innovation in Artificial Intelligence, MedTech using forest and medicinal products, Smart City solutions, and Smart Agriculture.
  • Electronics System Design & Development (ESDD) Center – Designed to support 30–40 hardware start-ups and MSMEs annually by offering product design, prototyping, skill development, and capacity-building facilities.

The Chief Minister noted that these initiatives will help retain talented youth within the state by creating high-quality employment opportunities locally, reducing the need for migration to metro cities.

STPI Collaboration to Strengthen Start-up Ecosystem

Highlighting the importance of the partnership, CM Sai said that STPI’s vast network—comprising 68 centers and 24 sector-specific Centers of Entrepreneurship across India—will provide mentorship, incubation support, funding assistance, and access to advanced laboratory infrastructure for innovators in Chhattisgarh.

“This partnership is crucial for nurturing Chhattisgarh’s start-up ecosystem, enabling the youth to access world-class facilities without leaving the state,” he said.

Boost to Economic and Digital Growth

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the initiative would significantly contribute to the state’s economic progress and position Chhattisgarh as a nationally recognized destination for digital innovation and technological entrepreneurship. He added that the state’s modern infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and strong e-governance framework make it an attractive hub for IT, ITES, and emerging technology industries.
