Mumbaikars can now book QR-code-based tickets for Metro Lines 2A & 7 through 14+ popular consumer-facing mobile apps. The integration marks a major leap in digital ticketing and commuter convenience by connecting Metro services with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

On Wednesday, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis launched this people-first digital initiative in the presence of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and MMRDA Chairman Shri Eknath Shinde, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, and Smt. Rubal Agarwal, Managing Director, Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd. (MMMOCL).

Seamless Ticketing Across Multiple Platforms

This ONDC integration enables faster, smarter access, greater choice, and seamless end-to-end travel for lakhs of daily commuters. The initiative builds on the success of India’s first common mobility app—the Mumbai One App—which received 3,78,792+ downloads since 8 October 2025.

Strengthening Digital Public Infrastructure

The ONDC integration, executed for MMRDA by Sequel String, supports Maharashtra’s continued push to strengthen Digital Public Infrastructure under the Digital India mission.

With 3.5 lakh daily riders already using Lines 2A & 7, and another 37 km across Lines 2B & 9 expected to become operational soon, this digital outreach will streamline paperless ticketing, reduce queues, cut friction, and give commuters the freedom to book on their preferred apps.
