In a significant administrative overhaul, the Kerala government has undertaken a major reshuffle in the IAS cadre, transferring nearly two dozen senior officers across key departments and districts.
A notable development in this reshuffle is the creation of new ex-cadre posts to spearhead critical development and climate-related projects. Arun J.O. has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Wayanad Township Project, a newly constituted post aimed at enhancing infrastructure in the ecologically sensitive hill district. Similarly, Harshil R. Meena, former Subcollector of Kozhikode, is now Director, Environment and Climate Change.
Key departmental changes include:
- K. Vasuki moves from Labour and Skills to General Education.
- Shanavas S. takes charge as Special Secretary, Labour and Skills, with additional responsibility for Panchayats.
- Sheeba George becomes Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare.
- Chithra S., Geetha A., and Geromic George have taken on new roles in General Education, Revenue, and Local Self-Government, respectively.
District Collector appointments include:
- Priyanka G. as DC, Ernakulam.
- Madhavikutty M.S. as DC, Palakkad.
- Chetan Kumar Meena as DC, Kottayam.
- Dinesan Cheruvat as DC, Idukki.
Additionally, senior IAS officers have been placed in key leadership roles in missions and corporations. Nizamudeen A. now heads the Kerala Institute of Local Administration and Impact Kerala. Apurva Tripathi is appointed CEO, Life Mission and Mission Director, AMRUT. Jayakrishnan V.M. will lead the Civil Supplies Corporation.

Seven newly inducted 2023 IAS batch officers, including Anjeet Singh, Atul Sagar, and Sakshi Mohan, have been posted as Subcollectors, reflecting Kerala’s commitment to grassroots administrative strengthening.
