Key-Bureaucratic-Appointments

The Government of India on Friday issued a series of notifications regarding key bureaucratic appointments, extensions, and deputations across various ministries and departments.

  • Jinesh Mohan (IRSS: 2014) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Biotechnology for a tenure of four years.

  • Vishal Gupta (IAS: 2012: GJ) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Culture & Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in the Ministry of Culture for a period of five years.

  • Kumar Rao (IAS: 2011: KN) has been appointed as Secretary, Coffee Board (Bengaluru), under the Ministry of Commerce, for a five-year term.

  • Upon the superannuation of Subrata Gupta (IAS: 1990: WB) on May 31, 2025, Sanjeev Chopra (IAS: 1990: OD) has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, until a regular appointment is made. Chopra is presently Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution.

  • Vir Vikram Yadav (IAS: 1996: OD) has been entrusted with the additional charge of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), till a regular incumbent is appointed. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.

  • The Central Deputation tenure of Sanjay Lohia (IAS: 1994: AM), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has been extended for two years beyond October 27, 2025, up to October 27, 2027.

  • Juhi Verma (IDAS: 2010), Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will continue on Central Deputation for two more years beyond September 29, 2025, i.e., up to September 27, 2027.

  • Yogendra Singh (IAS: 2013: BH) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Textiles, Giriraj Singh, for a five-year term.

  • Anurag Prasad (IRS IT: 1991), serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Minerals & Metals Trading Corporation Ltd. (MMTC), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre to avail the benefit of promotion.
