
Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia officially announced the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Scheduled to take place in New Delhi from October 8 to October 11, 2025, IMC is recognized as Asia’s largest digital technology forum and is expected to bring together global leaders from the technology and telecommunications sectors.
IMC 2025, organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), is projected to attract over 100,000 attendees from more than 120 countries. With over 1,000 exhibitors, including GSMA, the event aims to be a key platform for industry stakeholders to discuss advancements in connectivity, sustainability, and innovation.
Speaking at MWC Barcelona, Scindia highlighted the pivotal role of IMC in shaping India’s digital landscape. “India Mobile Congress has been instrumental in driving progress in the telecom and technology sectors. As Asia’s largest technology forum, IMC will further solidify India’s leadership in digital transformation and create new opportunities for collaboration in the global ecosystem,” he said.

Focus on Emerging Technologies

The 2025 edition of IMC will focus on key areas such as 5G and 6G technology, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, quantum computing, cybersecurity, satellite communications, deep-tech, clean-tech, smart mobility, Industry 4.0, and enterprise transformation. The event will serve as a global platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and technology enthusiasts to explore new frontiers in digital technology.

A significant highlight of IMC 2025 will be ASPIRE, its pioneering startup program. ASPIRE is expected to feature participation from over 1,000 startups, along with 300 investors, incubators, accelerators, and venture capitalists. The program will include mentorship workshops, live pitches, networking sessions, and opportunities for strategic partnerships.
India’s Digital Transformation
Scindia emphasized India’s remarkable progress in the telecom and technology sectors, attributing this growth to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “India is entering a new era of digital leadership and economic prosperity. Our advancements in emerging technologies such as 6G, AI, and quantum computing will position us at the forefront of global innovation,” he stated.

The previous edition of IMC, held in October 2024, recorded unprecedented participation, with over 175,000 attendees and more than 1,012 partners and exhibitors representing 123 countries. Building on this success, the upcoming event aims to further expand India’s influence in the digital and telecom sectors.
As the global landscape of digital technology continues to evolve, IMC 2025 is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of connectivity and innovation, reinforcing India’s status as a leader in the digital revolution.
