Mega Semiconductor Conference

Gandhinagar witnessed a major boost in semiconductor investments as agreements worth nearly ₹15,000 crore, including proposals from foreign firms, were signed on the first day of the Gujarat SemiConnect Conference.

Leading the investment commitments, NextGen signed an MoU to establish a ₹10,000 crore compound semiconductor fab and opto-electronics facility. US-based Jabil India also inked an agreement with the Gujarat government to set up a silicon photonics manufacturing factory with an investment of ₹1,000 crore.

A significant tripartite agreement was signed between Tata Electronics, Taiwan’s PSMC, and Himax Technologies for a semiconductor chip manufacturing facility in Dholera. Additionally, Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology (TSMT) committed over ₹500 crore to set up an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) unit, generating 1,000 new jobs.

The event also saw Kaynes Technology performing the ground-breaking ceremony for its new OSAT facility in Sanand, set to commence production in January 2026. Tata Electronics and IIT Gandhinagar signed an MoU for semiconductor skill enhancement.


Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated infrastructure projects, including a hospital, an international school, and a fire station at Dholera Special Investment Region, further strengthening the region’s development.
