Vijayapura has emerged as a major investment destination at the Invest Karnataka 2025 Global Investors Meet, reinforcing Karnataka’s leadership in industrial growth. Led by Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, the region has secured significant projects in renewable energy and agro-processing, driving economic development, job creation, and sustainability.

In a major boost to India’s renewable energy sector, Suzlon announced its partnership with the Government of Karnataka to develop 3000 MW of wind energy and establish a Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Vijayapura. This initiative will position India as a global wind energy leader while advancing energy self-sufficiency and sustainability. Additionally, Suzlon has committed to employing 90% ITI graduates and collaborating with Karnataka’s technical institutes for skill development programs.

Adding to the investment momentum, Wings – Viterra is set to establish South India’s largest Multi Pulse Processing Plant, either in Kalaburagi or Vijayapura. With a proposed investment of ₹250 crore and a processing capacity of 800 MT per day, the plant will handle Pigeon Peas, Chickpeas, Black Matpe, and Mungbeans. By its second year, the facility is expected to achieve an annual turnover of ₹800 crore, significantly reducing India’s reliance on pulse imports.

The project will benefit local farmers and rural communities by creating direct market access through dedicated collection centres, leading to better revenue realization. It will also promote women’s empowerment and rural job creation, further strengthening Karnataka’s agricultural ecosystem.
