Bangalore, February 11, 2025 – The Government of Karnataka has introduced an innovative Single Window System at the Global Investors Meet, Invest Karnataka 2025, enhancing the ease of doing business with a streamlined and digital-first investment facilitation platform. Shri Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, officially launched the system, marking a significant step toward simplifying investor interactions with government departments.

Designed to eliminate cumbersome bureaucratic processes, the platform integrates over 150 business services from more than 30 state departments and agencies, ensuring a more efficient and transparent approval process. Investors can now submit, modify, and renew approvals, NOCs, and clearances through a single-window interface, significantly improving turnaround times. The system also enables businesses to secure in-principle approvals at both the district and state levels via an online Common Application Form (CAF), providing a structured and predictable pathway for investment approvals.

In the upcoming months, the platform will introduce Affidavit-Based Clearance (ABC), allowing manufacturing sector investors to commence construction and preparatory work without waiting for multiple departmental approvals. By submitting an affidavit through the Karnataka Udyog Mitra portal, businesses can fast-track project implementation. The system also features an integrated Land Management System, streamlining Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) services, including land availability, allotment, and building plan approvals. Investors exploring private or revenue land for industrial purposes can leverage the GIS-Based Industrial Information System to verify zoning compliance before making land acquisition decisions.

To enhance alignment with national and central regulatory frameworks, the Single Window System is fully integrated with the National Single-Window System and various central government departments. Additionally, a Know-Your-Approval wizard provides investors with guidance on essential approvals, NOCs, and clearances required at various project stages. To support financial decision-making, an Incentive Wizard and Calculator have been embedded to help investors assess their eligibility for state-offered incentives.

A key feature of the platform is Udyog Mitra Assistant (UMA)—a Generative AI-powered chatbot that offers real-time, multilingual assistance on policies, approvals, and incentives. Furthermore, an integrated incentive claim and disbursement module ensures a transparent and efficient mechanism for financial benefits.

The system enhances transparency by offering real-time application status updates, while dashboards and SLA monitoring tools enable government authorities to track approvals, address bottlenecks, and improve service efficiency. Mobile-optimized and multilingual, the platform ensures ease of access for a diverse user base. Investors can also raise and monitor grievances through an interactive query resolution system.

By adopting PAN as a Unique Business ID for accessing business services, the Single Window System provides end-to-end digital support throughout the investment lifecycle. This initiative reflects Karnataka’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and strengthening its position as a leading investment destination. With its comprehensive digital framework, the platform not only simplifies administrative processes but also reinforces Karnataka’s standing as a key hub for industrial growth and economic expansion.
