The Maharashtra government has transferred eight IAS officers in a fresh bureaucratic reshuffle ahead of the state’s annual budget presentation.

Among the key appointments, Dhiraj Kumar has been named Secretary, Medical Education Department, succeeding Dinesh Waghmare, who has been appointed as the State Chief Election Commissioner. The post has been vacant since September 4, 2024.


In the Finance Department, significant shifts have been made. Shaila A, previously Secretary of Financial Reforms, has been reassigned as Secretary, Treasury and Accounts, while Richa Bagla has taken over as Secretary, Financial Reforms, moving from her earlier role in Treasury and Accounts.

Further appointments include Manisha Verma as Additional Chief Secretary, Skill Development Department, and Ganesh Patil as Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department. Krishnakant Kanwariya has been transferred to Additional District Collector, Shahada division, Nandurbar district.



Additionally, Mangesh Awhad has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra Medical Goods Purchase Authority, and Mahesh Awhad, previously Managing Director of Haffkine Bio-Pharmaceutical Corporation, will now serve as CEO, Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority.

In another notable move, Suhas Gade has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad.
