Extension of tenures and new inductions in CBI: Check List

In a recent move, the tenure of two IPS officers of SP and DIG ranks has been extended, along with an extension for an IRS officer on central deputation. Additionally, two other IPS officers have been inducted into the CBI for a five-year term.

  1. Dr. Sonal Chandra (IPS: 2008: TN), DIG, CBI: Tenure extended for one year, from 01.07.2024 to 30.06.2025, totaling six years of central deputation.
  2. Murali Rambha (IPS: 2011: TN), SP, CBI: Tenure extended for two years, from 08.07.2024 to 07.07.2026, totaling seven years of central deputation.
  3. Vijayendra Kumar (IRS: 2007), currently SP in CBI: Appointed as DIG in CBI for a combined tenure up to 19.07.2024, totaling seven years of central deputation.
  4. Jashandeep Randhawa (IPS: 2012: HY): Inducted as SP in CBI for a combined tenure (SP+DIG) of five years.
  5. Subhash Chandra Jat (IPS: 2015: JH): Inducted as SP in CBI for a combined tenure (SP+DIG) of five years.

Moreover, two senior IPS officers have been recently appointed as Additional Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The officers are:

N. Venu Gopal (IPS: 1995: HP), currently serving as Joint Director, CBI, has been appointed as Additional Director, CBI, for a total tenure of five years, extending until May 24, 2027.
