Central Government

In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Central Government announced several key appointments at the Joint Secretary level, marking a strategic shift in leadership roles.

Here is the list:

Muthukrishnan Sankaranarayanan (IAS: 2003: MH) assumes the role of Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, succeeding Richa Bagla (IAS: 1999: MH), with a tenure extending until October 24, 2026.

Shobhit Gupta (IRSEE: 2000) steps in as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, replacing Satyendra Kumar Mishra (IRS IT: 1990) with a tenure until March 1, 2025.

Vimal Anand (IRS IT: 2003) takes charge as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, succeeding Nidhi Mani Tripathi (IAS: 2001: MN), with a tenure until December 9, 2026.

Monalisa Dash (IFoS: 2003: SK) assumes the role of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, succeeding Harpreet Singh (IPoS: 1992), with a tenure until October 11, 2026.

Rahul Jain (IAS: 2005: MP) is appointed as Joint Secretary, Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs, with tenure until November 3, 2024, extendable for two years, subject to cadre clearance.

Ranjit Singh (IA&AS: 2003) takes on the role of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, succeeding Sanoj Kumar Jha (IAS: 1997: SK), with a tenure until March 21, 2028.

Rajeev Kumar (IOFS: 2000) assumes the position of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, with tenure until March 5, 2025, succeeding Sumita Singh (CSS).

Vrunda Manohar Desai (IRS IT: 2003) is appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, succeeding Vikram Sahay (IRS IT: 1992), with a tenure until April 12, 2027.

Navin Agarwal (IRPS: 1997) takes charge as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management, succeeding Parama Sen (IA&AS: 1994), with a tenure until March 14, 2027.

Mahendra Kumar (IRSEE: 1999) assumes the role of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, with a tenure until May 22, 2025.

Vivek Kumar Bajpai (IRSME: 1999) takes on the position of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, succeeding U C Joshi (IRTS: 1989), with a tenure until March 22, 2027.

Rajiv Manjhi (CSS) is appointed as Director of the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM) under DoPT, succeeding Sumita Singh (CSS), with a tenure until September 30, 2028.

Jai Prakash Pandey (IRPS: 2003) assumes the role of Additional Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under DoPT, succeeding Pushpendra Rajput (IAS: 1999: HP), with a tenure until February 20, 2027.

Abhishek Bhagotia (IAS: 2007: AM) takes charge as Joint Secretary, Lokpal, Department of Personnel & Training, succeeding Navin Agarwal (IRPS: 1997), with a tenure until April 3, 2027.

Lal Chhandama (CSS) assumes the role of Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, succeeding Abhishek Bhagotia (IAS: 2007: AM), with a tenure until his superannuation.

Debolina Thakur (IA&AS: 1998) is appointed as Joint Secretary & FA, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, succeeding Sanjay Pandey (ICAS: 1994), with a tenure until her superannuation.

Rahul Kashyap (CSS) takes charge as Secretary of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, succeeding R K Khandelwal (IAS:1989: BH), with a tenure until his superannuation.
