In a significant administrative reshuffle in Bihar, the state government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has allocated fresh responsibilities to six IAS officers. The General Administrative Department has issued orders pertaining to this reallocation.

Among the notable changes, Sanjay Kumar, a 2011 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Special Secretary in the Governor’s Secretariat. Additionally, Mahavir Prasad Sharma, belonging to the 2013 batch, has been entrusted with the role of Additional Secretary in the same office.

Anand Sharma, another 2013 batch IAS officer, has been designated as the Additional Chief Electoral Officer of the Election Commission following his release from the additional duties at the Urban Development and Housing Department.


Furthermore, Amrisha Bains, who joined the IAS in 2018, has been assigned as an Officer on Special Duty in the Energy Department.

Meanwhile, Himanshu Kumar Rai from the 2010 batch has been granted additional responsibility as director of the Panchayati Raj Department while still retaining his current position as special secretary in the Planning and Development Department.


Mukesh Kumar Lal, an IAS officer from the 2006 batch, has been bestowed with the additional charge of Director in the Agriculture Department, alongside his existing role as Special Secretary in the Finance Department.
