In a significant bureaucratic reorganisation, the newly formed administration of Madhya Pradesh executed the transfer of 18 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers late Sunday night.

In this restructuring, several officers awaiting departmental assignments for a month have now been allocated roles. Manu Srivastava, formerly the Additional Chief Secretary of Technical education, skill development and employment department now assumes the position of Additional Chief Secretary in the Power and Renewable Energy Department. Conversely, Sanjay Shukla, the former Principal Secretary of the PHE Department, has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Governor, while DP Ahuja transitions from the Governor’s office to Principal Secretary of the PWD Department.

Further changes include Manish Rastogi‘s appointment as Principal Secretary of the Jail Department and E Ramesh Kumar‘s new role as Principal Secretary of the Tribal Affairs Department, along with additional responsibilities as Commissioner of Religious Trusts and Endowments and the Tribal Department.


Khadi Village Industries Board Commissioner Sophia Farooqui Wali now leads the Women and Child Development Department, and former Public Relations Commissioner Manish Singh assumes the position of Registrar of Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Redressal Disputes Commission.

The reshuffle also sees Kishore Kanyal, the collector removed for misconduct in Shulajalpur, appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Forest Department.

Neeraj Vashishtha, formerly a special officer and close aide to ex-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has been appointed director of the Free Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Tribes Department.

Additionally, various managerial positions see new appointments, including Saurabh Kumar Suman as Director cum Commissioner of the Backward Class and Minority Welfare Department, Mohit Bindas as Managing Director of the Handicrafts Handloom Development Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Khadi Village Industries Board, and Nidhi Nivedita as Managing Director of Women Finance and Development Corporation. Kumar Purushottam assumes the role of Deputy Secretary of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department.
