
In recent administrative developments, the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government has announced promotions for two IAS officers, Parwez Ahmad Siddiqui and Choten Dhendup Lama, both from the 1999 batch. Siddiqui, currently serving as the Secretary of the Food and Supplies Department, has been elevated to the position of Principal Secretary in the same department, while Lama, the Secretary of the Tribal Development Department, has been promoted to the role of Principal Secretary in the Tribal Development Department.
Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, the newly elected government led by Vishnu Deo Sai has undertaken a minor bureaucratic reshuffle involving three IAS officers. Mr. Subrat Sahu, a 1992 batch IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), has been given the additional charge of the Administrative Academy. Renu Pillai, a 1991 batch IAS officer currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health and Family Welfare, and Medical Education Department, had earlier held the additional charge of the Academy of Administration.
Furthermore, Janak Prasad Pathak, a 2007 batch IAS officer, will temporarily assume the role of Commissioner Health Education, along with the additional charge of Registrar, Firms, and Institutions. Additionally, Mahendra Singh Savanni, an IAS officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Mandi Board, relieving him of his earlier additional charge of the Mandi Board.
