The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a New Year’s gift for the state cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The decision was made during a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), presided over by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra.

The government has accorded approval for the promotion of 97 IAS officers, signifying a significant stride in their professional trajectories and an accompanying boost in remuneration. Among the notable promotions, four officers are set to ascend to the esteemed position of Principal Secretary, while an additional 17 officers will rise to the post of Secretary.

Noteworthy among the promoted officers are four individuals from the 1999 batch, who, after completing 25 years of dedicated service, will assume the role of Principal Secretaries. These distinguished officers include Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Generation Corporation and Transmission Corporation Mr. P. Guruprasad, Commissioner Aligarh Mandal Mr. Ravindra, and Commissioner National Capital Region Ms. Samyukta Samaddar.


Furthermore, a cohort of 17 IAS officers from the 2008 batch, having completed 16 years of service, will witness promotions from the position of Special Secretary to Secretary/Commissioner. Notable names in this group encompass Kinjal Singh, Soumya Aggarwal, Dr. Saroj Kumar, K. Vijayendra Pandian, Pawan Kumar, Kumar Ravikant Singh, Dr. Kajal, Amrit Tripathi, B. Chandrakala, Anil Dhingra, Rajesh Kumar, Bal Krishna Tripathi, Chandra Bhushan Singh, Vimal Kumar Dubey, Sukh Lal Bharti, Dr. Vedpati Mishra, and Akhilesh Singh.

In addition, 24 officers from the 2011 batch, having completed 13 years of service at the Special Secretary level, will be elevated from Junior Administrative Grade to Selection Grade (Pay Matrix Level 12 to 13). Similarly, 34 officers from the 2015 batch, having fulfilled nine years of service, will experience promotions from the senior time scale to the junior administrative grade (pay matrix level 11 to 12).

Notably, 18 officers from the 2020 batch, having completed four years of service, are set to ascend to the position of Chief Development Officer (CDO) from their current roles as Joint Magistrates, marking a noteworthy advancement in the senior time scale. This strategic move aims to recognize and reward the dedication and contributions of these officers to the administrative machinery of Uttar Pradesh.
