IAS Rugved Milind Thakur Takes Charge as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat

Rugved Milind Thakur, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch hailing from Himachal Pradesh cadre, assumed the role of Deputy Secretary within the Cabinet Secretariat on 20th November.


Prior to this prestigious assignment, Mr. Thakur held the position of Director of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, concurrently serving as the Ex-officio Special Secretary (Panchayati Raj) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

As outlined in an official notification from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Rugved Milind Thakur’s appointment falls under the Central Staffing Scheme, entailing a four-year tenure commencing from the date he assumes office, or until further instructions are issued, whichever occurs first.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Mr. Thakur has taken on the added responsibility of serving as the Managing Director of HP Power Transmission Corporation Limited. This multi-faceted role underscores his capabilities and the trust placed in him by the government.
