
In a significant administrative overhaul, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) government announced the transfer and posting of 41 officers on Sunday, with immediate effect. Notably, three senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers were among those affected by the reshuffle.
The changes included the appointment of new Deputy Commissioners for the Doda, Ramban, and Reasi districts. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS (AGMUT:2013), who served as the Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute in J&K, was reassigned as the Director of Sericulture, J&K.
Khalid Jahangir, JKAS, the Managing Director of J&K Trade Promotion Organization, will now assume the role of Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute, J&K, in addition to his current responsibilities, until further notice.

Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary, IAS (AGMUT:2015), previously the Managing Director of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Ramban. Meanwhile, Harvinder Singh, IAS (AGMUT:2019), who was serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner in Jammu, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Doda.

Several other officers were also shuffled within various departments, with new assignments ranging from Managing Director roles to Deputy Commissioners and Program Directors. The changes are aimed at improving administrative efficiency and bringing fresh perspectives to key roles within the government.

The reshuffle has been implemented to enhance the administration’s effectiveness and ensure a smooth functioning of government departments across the region.
