SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the state-owned SJVN, has signed a contract for a Balance of System (BOS) Package for a 100 MW Solar Project in the Punjab state. According to Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma, SGEL has a contract with BVG India Limited. This is the first BOS Contract worth Rs 132.64 crores that SGEL has been given. For a period of three years, the deal also covers the operation and maintenance of the solar power plant, he added.

Sharma further informed that SJVN bagged the Project through Tariff based Competitive Bidding Process, on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis through e-Reverse Auction (e-RA) at a tariff of Rs 2.65 per unit. The commissioning of this Project is expected to reduce 259798 Tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute to the Government of India’s mission of reducing its carbon footprint.

PPA signed between PSPCL & SJVN for 25 yrs

Sharma added that the project’s estimated construction cost is Rs 545 Crores. The project is anticipated to produce 227 MU in the first year, with a total estimated energy production during a 25-year period of about 5,302 MU. PSPCL and SJVN have already agreed to a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
