VK Singh appointed as Director (Technical) of REC

V.K. Singh has been appointed as Director (Technical) of REC Limited with immediate effect from 12th July, 2022, REC said in its statement.

An IIT Roorkee alumnus, V.K. Singh has more than three decades of professional experience across power sector PSUs, NTPC, PGCIL and REC.

In his 15 year stint with REC, he has been instrumental in delivering key operations of the company involving Policy formulation, Project & Entity Appraisal, Business Planning, Stressed Assets Management and MoU negotiations besides heading operations at REC’s subsidiary for some time.

Formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) limited, REC is a Navratna company that works under administrative control of the Ministry of Power.Its business activities revolve around financing projects in the complete power sector value chain; for various types of projects including generation, transmission, distribution and renewable energy


Being an NBFC, REC focuses on power sector financing and development across India. It has recently completed fifty years of its operation. Established in 1969, It provides financial assistance to state electricity boards, state governments, central/state power utilities, independent power producers, rural electric cooperatives and private sector utilities.
