PVC Aadhar Card: With latest security features, weather-proof & easy to carry

Now, the Aadhaar cards will be just like your Debit or Credit cards, loaded with latest security features, easy to carry and instantly verifiable, as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIADI) has decided to reprint these as PVC Aadhaar cards.

The UIDAI, in a series of tweets mentioned about the new PVC cards, their features, and more. In one of the tweets, it said,  “Loaded with the latest security features, your Aadhaar is now more durable, convenient to carry, instantly verifiable offline.”

In another few tweets, the authority said, the new PVC cards are all weather-proof. Citizens can get their PVC Aadhaar card by entering their registered mobile number and OTP. Following, a few clicks, the card will be sent to the citizen via Speed Post. Easing the ordering procedure further, the authority in another tweet informed, “You can use any mobile number to receive the OTP for authentication, regardless of the registered mobile number in your Aadhaar. So, one person ca order Aadhaar PVC card online for the whole family.”

Listing out a few other options to order the new card, the authority tweeted that Aadhaar number can be used for the same. However, if one does not remember the number, the person can even use the 28-digit enrollment ID or the 16-digit virtual ID for the same.

Underlining the security features in the PVC Aadhaar card, the UIDAI said, the new card is durable and is convenient to carry. It hosts security features like a hologram, Guilloche Pattern, ghost image & Microtext. Moreover, the card houses a QR code which comes in handy for quick offline verification. The Aadhaar PVC card also gets Issue Date & Print Date on it adding on to the security features. And, the card also contains the embossed Aadhaar Logo.

Citizens can easily order the new PVC card and track its status on www.uidai.gov.in under the ‘My Aadhaar‘ tab.
