On July 6, Mayur Maheshwari, a 2003-Batch senior IAS officer, took the charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) at Kanpur. Maheshwari replaced Anil Garg who has now been appointed as Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resource Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

As soon as Maheshwari joined the post, he reviewed various projects developed by TransGanga City, Saraswati Hi-Tech City, Kanpur Leather Park and more. Maheshwari, further, shared his vision of transforming UPSIDA by inducing technology interventions like satellite imagery, ArcGIS, drone surveys and business intelligence to pace up the industrial development of the state.
