Vini Mahajan becomes Punjab’s first woman Chief Secretary

Vini Mahajan, 1987-Batch IAS officer, took over as Punjab’s first woman Chief Secretary. Mahajan took the charge on Friday, June 26, replacing Karan Avtar Singh. Moreover, Mahajan has also been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Personnel and Vigilance. Her husband is the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta.
