Dr Vishwas Mehta to be New Chief Secretary of Kerala

Dr Vishwas Mehta, a 1986-Batch, IAS officer has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the State of Kerala. Dr Mehta is presently the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and he join the new position from June 1 following the retirement of the present Chief Secretary Tom Jose who is is set to retire on May 31, 2020.

The Government has released the order for a major bureaucratic shift on May 27. Senior bureaucrat TK Jose, who’s now Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD) has been given the charge of Secretary, Home. Moreover, V Venu, the present Secretary, Revenue has been transferred as the Secretary, State Planning Board. And, A Jayathilak has been posted as Secretary, Revenue.

The administrative rejig also involved shifting of district collectors as well. K Gopalakrishnan, District Collector, Thiruvananthapuram has been transferred as District Collector of Malappuram. And, Navjyoth Khosa has been given the charge of District Collector, Thiruvananthapuram.

M Anjana, District Collector of Alappuzha has been appointed as the District Collector of Kottayam. Whereas, Ishitha Roy has been transferred as Commissioner, Agricultural Production.
