In this time of COVID-19 crisis when people are in fear and authorities are taking stringent measures to contain the viral outbreak, Hari Chandana Dasari, Collector and District Magistrate, Narayanpet district of Telangana told Elets News Network that Narayanpet is now a COVID-19 free district.
She mentioned about the measures implemented by the district administration under her leadership to fight COVID-19 pandemic. Drones were used by the police personnel to monitor the lockdown situation, testing booths were set up to upscale the testing procedure. Moreover, lockdown played a crucial role in preventing the further spread of the virus. Also, door-to-door delivery of essential commodities and making enough ration available and accessible for the people, said Ms. Dasari.
Adding on to the steps taken, she said, Narayanpet is the first district in the country to get telemedicine service by the district administration. The move benefitted many people who sought medical help. Another initiative, taken by the district administration was procuring paddy directly from the farmers, is worth appreciation. The initiative not only benefitted the farmers but also the people.
